For the more energetic among us, we can head to Kubang Badak River for some Kayaking. Depending on the tidal conditions we will either begin at the coast and end upriver or begin upriver and end down at the coast.
Kayaking & Swimming Adventure
Meet up at Kubang Badak River Jetty, a coastal river where you will ride a kayak along the mangrove forest. Before we begin, guides will have a short briefing on the safety and using the kayaks. All participants must wear Life jackets before getting in to sit on top Kayak.
We begin to pedal towards the open seas of the Kubang Badak River with your guide. See white-bellied sea eagles, brahminy kites, kingfishers, herons, mudskippers, fiddler crabs, and monitor lizards. If you're lucky, you might be able to meet the resident otter family.
We make a stop at Pinang cave, the remains of an ancient sea cave formed by waves when the sea was 25m above its current level are now home to bats, decorated with stalagmite and stalactites. Next, we make a stop at an ancient charcoal kiln. We end with a swim at a small island before returning to the jetty.
Once you're done, you will go to a local family house for a delightful home-cooked lunch. We end the day with a full belly and a memorable experience. Make your friends back home envious with a great photos.
